Overview
The Cayman Islands Identification Card, also known as My eID, provides residents with a secure and convenient way to verify their identity and access various digital and in-person services.
Download the My eID App or Software
1. To get started, download the latest version of the My eID app from your device's app store or via our website:
iPhone users: Download My eID from the Apple App Store.
Android users: Download My eID from the Google Play Store.
For Mac or PC users: Download from our website.
Choose Your Setup Method
To add your Cayman Islands Identification Card to the app or software, select one of these methods:
2. NFC Support: If your smartphone or PC supports NFC (Near Field Communication), you can use it to add your Identification Card to the My eID app or software. Ensure that NFC is enabled in your device’s settings.
3. Compatible Smart Card Reader: If your device does not support NFC, connect a compatible Smart Card Reader to complete the setup. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to properly connect and configure the reader with your device.
Adding Your Identification Card
4. Open the My eID app or software and select the option to add your Identification Card.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your card to the My eID app or software. This will involve either tapping your ID card to the back of your phone (if using NFC) or inserting the card into the connected Smart Card Reader.
Using the My eID App or Software
With the Cayman Islands Identification Card successfully added to the app or software, you can now access a wide range of features:
6. Change the PIN of your eID Card.
7. Digitally sign documents securely.
8. Verify authenticity of digitally signed documents.
9. Link your eID Card to your eServices Sign-In to manage your info and what you share via the My Info Portal.
Use Cases
10. Securely logging into the DVDL eServices Sign In to renew a driver’s license
11. Providing proof of immigration status for opening a bank account or official purposes.
12. Signing legal agreements digitally without in-person meetings.
13. Controlling personal data shared with third parties via the My Info Portal.
