My eID - How to install and use the My eID PC and MAC Desktop software

Overview
This guide will walk you through the installation process of the My eID PC and MAC Desktop software and how to change your pin.

Download the My eID Desktop Software
1. Visit the official My eID website https://myeid.egov.ky/software
2. Select the version compatible with your PC (Windows or Mac).
3. Click the Download button.
4. Once the download is complete, locate the installer in your downloads folder.

Install the My eID Desktop Software
1. Double-click the installer file (e.g., My-eID-Setup.exe) to start the installation process.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions:
   a) Windows users: Follow the installation wizard prompts, and click Next to continue.
   b) Mac users: Drag the My eID app icon into the Applications folder.
3. Once the installation is complete, launch the app from your desktop or start menu.

Set Up Your eID Card
1. Before you can start using the My eID software, you will need to add your Cayman Islands Identification Card to the software as NFC Smart Card or add a Smart Card Reader (that you will use to read the card if NFC is not supported by your computer).
2. Insert your eID card into the Reader (chip-first and barcode facing up).
3. Plug your Smart Card Reader into a USB port on your PC.

Changing Your PIN
1. Select Change PIN

2. Enter your old PIN, and enter your new PIN twice. The new PIN must be between 4 to 16 alphanumeric digits
3. When the PIN has been successfully changed, you will receive a screen with the message - PIN successfully changed
