Overview
The My eID software enables Cayman Islands Identification Cardholders to perform secure authentication and utilise digital signatures. This software provides a seamless interface for accessing the digital features of the Cayman Islands Identification Card, allowing users to conduct transactions safely and efficiently.

Get Started
To begin, make sure you:
- Download the latest version of the My eID software on your PC or Mac
- Select the method you will be using to add your Cayman Islands Identification Card to the My eID software:
a) Via NFC
b) Via Smart Card Reader
Installation of the My eID Software
1. Go to My eID Software on your computer and install the latest version of the My eID software.
2. Follow the instructions in the Setup Wizard to install the software on your computer.
3. When the installation of the software is complete, the My eID software will appear on the home screen of your computer.

Add a Device
Before you can start using the My eID software, you will need to add your Cayman Islands Identification Card to the software via NFC or with a Smart Card Reader.
1. Using NFC, place the eID Card flat over the location of the NFC reader, and the Card will then appear below Connected Devices.
2. Using the Smart Card Reader (Smart Card Keyboard, miniLector Blue, or USB):
a) Insert your Card chip first, with the barcode facing up.
b) The Card information will then be displayed on the screen.
Note: For computers that support NFC, the location of the NFC reader varies and is dependent on the computer

Login
The My eID software allows you to access the Card details by logging in.
1. Set Up Your eID Card by ensuring it is connected to your computer via a Smart Card Reader or NFC.
2. Once your card is successfully connected, you will be able to select the green Login button.
3. You are prompted to enter your PIN.
4. Select OK.
Change PIN
The My eID software can be used to change the PIN on your Cayman Islands Identification Card.
1. If using a Card Reader, insert the Card chip first, with the barcode facing up.
2. Open the software.
3. Select the Change PIN button at the top of the page.
4. Enter your old PIN and enter your new PIN twice. The new PIN must be between 4 to 16 alphanumeric digits.
5. When the PIN has been successfully changed, you will receive a screen with the message - PIN successfully changed.

How to Sign a PDF Document
Note: You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer
1. If using a Card Reader, connect your Smart Card Reader to the computer, insert the Card chip first, with the barcode facing up. If using NFC, place the eID Card flat over the location of the NFC reader.
2. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader.
3. Select Menu in the top left of your screen then select Open.
4. Search for and open the file you want to sign using your My eID Card.
5. Below the Menu tab, select All tools, then View More.
6. Scroll down to Use a certificate (the icon is a turquoise pen).
7. Select Digitally Sign and your cursor will now have the ability to click-to-drag to place the digital signature appropriately on the file.
8. You will be asked to Sign with a Digital ID, click Continue to proceed. The display shows Name, Date and Digitally signed by (your full name).
9. The option is available to Lock the document after signing, preventing edits while allowing the receiver to view it.
10. To digitally sign the file, select Sign.
11. Save the file with the appropriate name.
12. Select Save and you will be prompted to enter your PIN for your My eID Card.
13. The document is now digitally signed.

Verify a Digitally Signed Document
1. Open a signed document in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
2. Click the digital signature on the document.
3. The Signature Panel button will appear in the top right corner. Click it to view the drop-down with the heading Signatures.
4. Select the signature you want to verify.
5. The Signature Validation Status will describe the validity of the signature.
