My eID - How to Change Your PIN on My eID Mobile App

1. Open the My eID app

2. Select Identity from the bottom toolbar

If using a Smart Card Reader:

a) Ensure the toggle switch on the Reader is turned to Bluetooth mode, and Bluetooth should also be switched on via your device settings.
b) Ensure your Card is inserted chip-first with the barcode facing up.

3. Select the Device or Card for which you want to update the PIN

4. Under Operations, select Change PIN

5. Enter your old PIN as prompted

Your PIN should be between 4 – 16 numeric digits

6. Enter your new PIN twice

7. Click “Change PIN” when the box turns blue

8. Scan your Card

If using the Smart Card Reader, the app will automatically start scanning for your device.

If using NFC, scan the Card by placing it on your phone as directed.

 

For iOS devices, this would normally be at the top of your phone.

For Android devices, this would normally be at the back center of your phone.

You will feel the phone vibrate when the Card is in the correct location and is being read.

Keep the Card steady until you get a “Your Card was read successfully” message.

9. You have completed the process

When the PIN has been successfully updated, you will receive a success message.
