- Open the My eID app

1. Open the My eID app
Choose a file you previously signed using the app that you would like to view
2. Select History from the top menu of the app
A list of files that you have digitally signed will be displayed
3. Click on the file you want to view
If using an Android device, click on the three dots beside the file you want to view, and select preview.
4. The signed file will now appear on the screen
5. Click done
Verify a digitally signed document file
6. Option 1: Upload the file directly within the My eID mobile app
6.1. Select Verify from the top menu of the app
6.2. Locate and select the document that you would like to verify
Upload a signed document that you have saved on your device.
For iOS users:
a) Select < iCloud Drive and then < Browse on the top left menu items
b) Select the desired file you want to verify
For Android users:
a) Select Documents on the top left menu
b) Select the relevant folder your file is saved under
7. Option 2: Open a downloaded file and share it to the My eID mobile app
7.1 Open your file
For iOS Users:
a) Select Share button (the blue icon located on the bottom left of iOS device)
For Android users:
a) Select open with My eID
7.2 Select “My eID Digital Signature”
8. Option 3: Open an email attachment and share it to the My eID mobile app
8.1. Open the email file attachment
For iOS Users:
a) Select Share button (located on the bottom left of iOS device)
For Android users:
a) Select the three dots at the top right of the screen
b) Select share
c) Select My eID mobile app
8.2. Select “My eID Digital Signature”
9. The app will conduct the verification of the file and produce a “Verification report”
10. To determine that the digital signature is valid, here are a few things to check:
Under 1.1 Synthesis scheme
a) Issuer: Cayman Islands Government
b) Verification Status: ✅(valid); 🚫(not valid)
Under 1.3 Certificates
a) The signee's name
b) Fiscal code: The persons ID code
c) Issuer: Cayman Islands Government
d) Certificate usage: Digital signature
