Yes. Applicants must be present in the Cayman Islands for at least 8 months of the previous 12 months when applying for financial assistance from the DFA. If you were out of the country for more than four months in the last year, you do not qualify for financial assistance.
Note: A person who has not been on the island for the last eight out of twelve months but who can demonstrate that this is due to medical or exceptional circumstances may still be eligible to receive assistance.
