In the event of an emergency, the DFA can provide financial assistance for up to one month. This allows you and your household to gather documentation and submit an application for financial assistance for continued support.

- You are eligible for this support if you do not have other means of financial support and are:
- Experiencing domestic violence or a disaster
- A person who is at significant risk of harm, or in need of urgent aid
- You are eligible for this support if you do not have other means of financial support and are:
“What will I need to apply?”
- The application form needs to be completed with information about the applicant and household members.
- The “Emergency Circumstance” section of the Application Form needs to be filled out.
- Proof of Identity for the Applicant
- Supporting documentation for the situation, such as a letter from an external organization
“When can I expect support?”
- Every emergency circumstance application will have a decision within two working days once all necessary information is provided.
